Dr George Paltoglou

Dental Surgeon BDSc (Melb.)

Dr. Paltoglou is the principle dentist at The Melbourne Smile Centre. He commenced practice in 1987 and holds a Bachelor of Dental Science from the University of Melbourne. He is a member of the ADA (Australian Dental Association), the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the European Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry and the Australian Society of Implant Dentistry.

George is passionate about his work in Cosmetic and Aesthetic dentistry and continues his post-graduate studies both in Australia and overseas, keeping up to date with the very latest cosmetic dental techniques which enables him to provide the very best consultative and clinical care to his patients.

Dr Matthew Youssef

BHSC MDent

Dr Matt graduated with a Masters of Clinical Dentistry from La Trobe University in addition to a Bachelor of Health Science. Matthew excelled amongst his peers, completing top of the class in Clinical Dentistry.

Dr Matt’s dental passion includes: Implants, Orthodontics, Invisalign, Wisdom Teeth, Wrinkle reduction injections and Fillers.
He has learnt from World Leaders in Oral Implantology, is currently completed his Post-Graduate Diploma in Implantology and is also a gIDE Master Clinician in Implantology.

Through his career he has been involved in numerous volunteer experiences and is now the Founder of the Australian Christian Dental Aid, providing much needed dentistry to underprivileged populations.
Dr Matt has a passion to provide evidence-based dentistry and education to his patients in an empathetic and relaxed environment.
Away from work Dr Matt loves spending time with his lovely wife Caroline and going along to see his beloved Westcoast Eagles.

Dr Jaclyn Wong

MBBS, BDSc (Hons), PG Dip Surg Anat

Dr. Wong is our specialist oral surgeon. Her services include wisdom teeth extractions, complex extractions, implant surgery, pathology, All-on-4™, exposures and pre-prosthetic surgery. Jaclyn has trained with experts in the field of All-on-4™ surgery, travelling to Portugal to learn from the inventor of the system at the Malo Clinic.

Jaclyn has completed both medical and dental degrees at the University of Melbourne, and has trained in general and specialty surgery with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. After graduating with Honours in Dentistry she worked as a registrar for six years at The Royal Melbourne Hospital, Royal Dental Hospital and Austin Hospital.

Michelle Haddad

Michelle Haddad is an oral health graduate of the University of Adelaide 2006. She is qualified in the fields of Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy. She is a member of the Dental Hygiene Association of Victoria (DHAAVB) & The Victorian Periodontal Society. She has held a Vice Presidency role for the DHAAVB and has thus contributed to the growth and support of dental hygiene professional development.

Working in private practice, Michelle has particular interest in preventative dental health for children and young adults. She continues to expand her skills by learning and implementing new techniques and advancements to provide care to all her patients. She is currently investigating further study on the use of stainless steel crowns to preserve and treat the teeth of children with dental caries.

Laura Micutz

Laura Micutz is a registered Oral Health Therapist, graduating from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor in Oral Health. She is dually qualified in dental hygiene and dental therapy, with a special interest in orthodontics and children’s dentistry. She is a member of the Dental Hygienists Association of Australia Victorian Branch (DHAAVB) and Australian Dental and Oral Health Therapist Association (ADOHTA).

Laura has been trained in both public and private sectors, Laura is dedicated to providing the highest level of professional preventive care, with a focus on children and young adults. Laura has a strong interest in providing a holistic approach to effective oral health education and oral hygiene instructions as a way of helping patients achieve and maintain optimal oral health, especially from a young age. She particularly enjoys developing rapport with the children and their families she treats. Her aim is to always help make dental experiences as pleasant and comfortable for all her patients.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two German shepherd dogs.

Joyce Harnick

Joyce Harnick is a registered Dental Hygienist, whose education includes, an Associate of Applied Science from the Community College of Philadelphia, USA, Bachelor of Science from Thomas Jefferson University, USA, and she
also completed her premedical prerequisites from Temple University, USA. She is a member of the Dental Hygienists Association of Australia Victorian Branch (DHAAVB) and the Australian Society of Periodontics Victorian Branch (ASPVB).

Joyce’s professional private practice experience includes 29 years of clinical dental hygiene, in the speciality area of Periodontics. Her experience also includes being a periodontal clinical demonstrator for undergraduate dental students at Temple University School of Dental Medicine, Philadelphia, PA, USA and a clinical demonstrator for dental hygiene students in the Diploma in Oral Health Therapy Programme at Melbourne Dental School at The University of Melbourne. Joyce is committed to providing the highest level of professional preventive care.

Kanella Tsaconas

Kanella Tsaconas is a registered Dental Hygienist, who graduated from Adelaide’s Gilles Plains Dental Institute in 1988. She is a member of the Dental Hygienists Association of Australia, Victoria Branch (DHAAVB) and the Australian Society of Periodontics, Victorian Branch (ASPVB).

Kanella has worked in both Sydney and Melbourne since graduating as a Dental Hygienist. She came to The Melbourne Smile Centre in 2003 and shares Dr. George Paltoglou’s philosophies in managing patients’ dental health whilst keeping in mind their individual needs. She has a particular interest in Periodontics and prides herself in helping patients achieve optimal oral health.
